New Programs

Family Promise | Connect With UsAt Family Promise, we’re focused on relationships. We provide two to three months of emergency shelter, meals and supportive services to homeless families in the Denver area. And we help each one secure employment, stable housing and a brighter future.

We’re dedicated to walking alongside the families we serve, and the following initiatives are a big part of that:

The HOME (Housing Opportunities, Mentoring & Education) Program & Our Prevention/Diversion Program.

The Home Program: We’re continuing to offer case management to families receiving financial assistance. This program often includes visits to their new home, gift cards tied to budget incentives, connections to community resources and other long-term support.

  • Mentors — Families sometimes need a listening ear and additional guidance. Our mentor program pairs them with community volunteers to meet one-on-one, celebrating life’s highs and troubleshooting the lows. This program and TBRA are both parts of the HOME initiative!

The Prevention/Diversion Program: In 2017 Family Promise was awarded a grant from H.U.M.I. (a non-profit partnering with local affiliates to end homelessness). With this funding, we have been able to add prevention and diversion to list of resources we can provide families in need. The goal of this program is to help families avoid the trauma of homelessness by keeping them housed through providing small amounts of rental assistance.

Overall, we’re focused on caring for each family’s basic needs while offering them the support they need to break the cycle of homelessness. It’s all about sustainable independence: Last year, 87% of families improved their financial condition while they were at Family Promise, 70% moved into more stable housing, and 84% of adults were employed or enrolled in a degree program.

And this year, we’re building more success stories …
