More Than Shelter
The Shelter Program strives to provide more than just shelter for families experiencing homelessness. By partnering with faith congregations, families receive shelter, meals, and supportive services. Each location is staffed by trained volunteers with 24-hour support from the Family Promise staff. Host congregations create private or semi-private sleeping rooms using meeting or education rooms within their facility. Each family member has an individual bed, three meals a day, and support from staff, volunteers, and other guests. Families have access to showers and laundry facilities.
If you are in need of services please call us at 303-675-0713.
The Day Shelter is open 7 days a week for families to have a safe space. Family Promise staff provide case management, referrals, and support. Families can conduct housing and job searches through the use of the site’s computer lab and phones. The Day Shelter also has a playroom for children, a kitchen, a quiet room for kiddos to nap, and a backyard to play. All staff offices are located at the Day Shelter.
Life Skills Classes
Twice a week, all adults in our shelter program attend Life Skills classes that include job readiness and retention, tenant rights, budgeting, parenting practices, healthy communication, and nutrition. These Life Skills and Parenting classes support parents as they stay positive and continue to work toward their goals.
